Refusals
Understanding why a file was refused — and what genuinely comes next.
A refusal is rarely the end of the story, but what you do next matters enormously. The refusal letter is often terse; the officer’s notes (GCMS) usually explain far more. The right response — reconsideration, a stronger reapplication, or Federal Court review — depends on what those notes actually say.
What we look at
- The refusal letter and the officer’s GCMS/ATIP notes
- Whether the concern was funds, ties, documents, eligibility, or credibility
- Whether reconsideration, reapplication, or judicial review fits best
- What can realistically be strengthened before any next step
How we help
- Ordering and analysing the officer’s notes
- An honest assessment of what went wrong
- A clear strategy for the strongest available next step
- Preparing that next application or request with care
Some options after a refusal are time-sensitive. The sooner a refusal is reviewed, the more choices tend to remain open.
